Pilgrimage of Colors
Releasing the traditional colors of the eight Hawaiian islands,
one island per year, through the artistry of Nishijin-ori.
RED : Hawai’i Island
The passion of Pele, Goddess of Fire. Woven with deep crimson lava tones and pure gold thread.
PINK : Maui
The temptation of Lokelani. The rose of Maui. In 2027, the curtain rises on its Nishijin redefinition.
YELLOW : O’ahu
The brilliance of Ilima. Noble yellow once reserved for royalty, now manifested through gold.
PURPLE : Kaua’i
The silence of the oldest island. Mysterious purple of Mokihana.
GREEN : Moloka’i
Vitality of the earth. The green of Kukui dwells in Nishijin silk.
ORANGE : Lāna’i
Afterglow of sunset. Kaunaoa orange intersects with gold.
WHITE : Ni’ihau
Radiance of rare shells woven with platinum.
GRAY : Kaho’olawe
Ash of prayer and rebirth. The end of the pilgrimage, Hinahina gray.
